How to add the AISkillHub chat to Shopify

Add Live chat or Global Room to your Shopify store by adding one line to your theme.
Before you start, create your widget and verify your store's domain. The overview guide explains both. Then copy your snippet from the widget's Install tab.
Add the snippet to your theme
- In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Next to your current theme, open the … menu and choose Edit code.
- Under layout, open
theme.liquid. - Find the closing
</body>tag near the end of the file and paste your snippet just above it. - Choose Save.
Verifying with the meta tag? In the same file, paste the aiskillhub-verification meta tag just above the closing </head> tag and save. Then choose Verify in AISkillHub.
Good to know
- Use the domain shoppers see. Verify your custom domain, such as
shop.example.com, not themyshopify.comaddress, unless that is the address you share. - Theme changes. Switching to a new theme, or installing a fresh copy of a theme update, gives you a new
theme.liquid. Add the snippet again after changing themes. - Checkout pages are controlled by Shopify, so the chat shows on your store pages but not inside checkout.
