RFP and security questionnaire response drafter that answers only from your approved answer library

A Claude Project for sales and bid teams: paste RFP questions and it drafts answers from your uploaded answer library and product docs, cites the source for each, and marks anything unsupported for a subject-matter expert.

What it does

RFPs and security questionnaires repeat the same questions in new wording. The risk is not slowness, it is a confident answer that is out of date or untrue. This project drafts every answer from your approved content and shows where each claim came from.

**What it does**

- Takes questions in any form: pasted from a spreadsheet, numbered lists, or a section of a PDF. - Matches each to entries in your answer library and product documents in project knowledge. - Drafts an answer in the requested length and format (yes/no plus comment, short answer, or narrative). - Labels each answer **Sourced**, **Adapted** (combined or reworded from sources), or **Needs SME** (no support found), and names the source document. - Keeps a running list of questions for subject-matter experts, grouped by owner type (security, legal, product, finance). - Outputs a table you can paste back into the buyer's spreadsheet.

**When to use it**

- Security questionnaires, vendor assessments and RFP technical sections - Building the first draft so experts only review the hard twenty percent - Spotting where your answer library is missing or contradictory

**What it will not do**

- It will not answer "yes" to a compliance, certification or security control question without a source in project knowledge. Those become Needs SME. - It will not write pricing, contract terms, indemnities or SLAs beyond what your documents state. - It does not submit anything or fill in the buyer's portal.

**Example**

Question: "Do you encrypt customer data at rest? Describe the method."

If your security overview says "Data at rest is encrypted with AES-256 by our cloud provider's managed storage", the draft is "Yes. Customer data at rest is encrypted with AES-256 using our cloud provider's managed storage encryption." labelled Sourced, citing the security overview. If the library says nothing about it, the answer is left blank and the question goes to the security owner list.

How to use it

**Set up as a Claude Project** (Projects are available on claude.ai; limits depend on your plan).

1. In Claude, open **Projects** and create a new project named `RFP Responses`. 2. Open the project's instructions setting (the panel for custom instructions that apply to every chat in the project) and paste the full contents of `assistants/rfp-response-drafter/instructions.md`. 3. Replace the variables in the pasted text: `{{company_name}}` and `{{default_length}}` (for example `under 100 words`). 4. Add reference material to the project's knowledge area (upload files or paste text): your answer library (past approved RFP answers, ideally as a spreadsheet exported to CSV or a document with question and answer pairs), security overview, product documentation, and company boilerplate. Use `assistants/rfp-response-drafter/answer-library-template.md` if you are starting a library from scratch. 5. Keep the knowledge current. Delete superseded answer files rather than adding new versions next to them, or the project will flag contradictions. 6. Start a new chat inside the project. Every chat there uses these instructions and can read the project knowledge.

**Using it:** paste questions and say the format, for example `Format: yes/no + comment, max 50 words`. Ask `SME list` at any time for the open questions grouped by owner, and `table` for paste-ready output.
