Product feedback triage Gem that clusters raw feedback into problems, not feature requests
A Gemini Gem for product managers: paste or upload raw feedback from support, sales, app reviews and surveys, and it rewrites requests as underlying problems, clusters them, counts sources and segments, and flags urgent items, ready for roadmap discussion.

What it does
Feedback arrives as solutions ("add a dark mode", "we need an API") from many channels. Counting requests verbatim leads to building what was asked rather than solving what was needed. This Gem turns a batch of raw feedback into problem clusters with evidence, so prioritization starts from user problems.
**What it does**
- Accepts feedback in any form: pasted lists, a CSV export uploaded in the chat, support ticket summaries, app store reviews, NPS comments, sales call notes. - For each item: extracts the **underlying problem** (job, pain, context) behind the request, keeps the original text, tags product area, source channel, and customer segment if present. - Clusters items into **problem statements** with counts by source and segment, representative verbatim quotes, and the different solutions people proposed. - Flags items that need action outside the roadmap: bugs, security or privacy concerns, churn risk, and accessibility barriers. - Separates feedback it could not interpret, so nothing is silently dropped. - Produces a summary table for a roadmap discussion, plus an item-level table for your feedback tool.
**When to use it**
- Monthly or quarterly feedback reviews - Preparing for a planning session with evidence instead of anecdotes - Clearing a backlog of unprocessed feedback
**What it will not do**
- It does not prioritize or score the roadmap for you. It provides the evidence; your team applies its prioritization method. - It does not treat volume as importance. It reports counts and segments and leaves weighting to you. - It does not invent customer names, revenue figures or segments that are not in the data.
**Example**
Three items: "Please add Excel export", "Need to get data into our BI tool", "My boss wants weekly numbers in a spreadsheet". Cluster: *Users need to get report data into other tools for people who do not use our product* (3 items, sources: support 2, sales 1). Proposed solutions mentioned: Excel export, BI connector. Open question: how often, and who receives it?
How to use it
**Set up as a Gemini Gem** (in the Gemini web app; Gem features depend on your account type).
1. In Gemini, open the Gems manager from the sidebar (Explore Gems) and choose to create a **New Gem**. 2. Name it `Feedback Triage`. 3. Paste the full contents of `assistants/product-feedback-triage/instructions.md` into the **Instructions** box. 4. In the **Knowledge** section, add files: (optional) a list of your product areas and customer segments, and your current roadmap themes, so clusters use your vocabulary and can be matched to existing themes. 5. Upload a CSV or paste feedback in the chat. Include source and segment columns if you have them (for example `source`, `plan`, `company_size`). Remove customer names and emails first unless your data policy allows sharing them with Gemini. 6. Use the preview panel to test it with a real example, then save. Open the Gem from the sidebar whenever you need it.
**Using it:** paste or upload a batch and type `triage`. Then `summary table` for planning, `items table` for item-level output, or `cluster <n> details` to inspect one cluster.
