Claude Skill for producing branded documents (memos, one-pagers, reports) as print-ready HTML
A Claude Skill that turns content into documents with your brand's colors, fonts, logo text and layout rules, outputting a self-contained HTML file that prints cleanly to PDF, plus a Markdown copy. Works in Claude apps with Skills enabled and in Claude Code.

What it does
Teams waste time reformatting the same memo or one-pager to look like the company's documents. This Skill gives Claude your brand rules once and a tested HTML template, so any time you ask for a branded document it produces the same structure and styling.
**What it does**
- Triggers when you ask Claude for a branded memo, one-pager, report, proposal summary or brief. - Reads `brand.md` for your brand name, colors, fonts, tone and document rules. - Chooses the document type and its section structure (memo, one-pager, report). - Writes the content following your tone rules, then fills `template.html`, a single-file HTML document with print CSS (A4 or US Letter, margins, page breaks, header and footer). - Saves `<name>.html` and `<name>.md`. Open the HTML in a browser and print to PDF.
**Why HTML**
A self-contained HTML file with inline CSS needs no extra libraries, renders the same in any browser, and prints to PDF with your fonts and colors. It avoids depending on document libraries that may not be installed in every environment.
**When to use it**
- Internal memos and decision documents that need to look official - Customer-facing one-pagers and short reports - Any team where several people produce documents that should look the same
**What it will not do**
- It does not embed image logos by default. It uses a text wordmark from `brand.md`. You can add an image logo by editing the template (instructions are in `brand.md`). - It does not produce .docx or .pptx files. - It does not invent content. If you ask for a report without supplying the facts, it drafts the structure and marks gaps.
**Example**
"Make a branded one-pager about our new support hours from these notes." produces `support-hours-one-pager.html` with the brand header, a headline, a three-point summary box, body sections, and a footer with the document date and your footer text.
How to use it
**Files:** `.claude/skills/branded-docs/SKILL.md`, `brand.md` and `template.html` must stay together in one folder named `branded-docs`.
**1. Fill in your brand.** Edit `brand.md`: brand name, colors (hex), font stacks, footer text, tone rules. Keep the headings as they are; the Skill looks for them.
**2a. Claude Code.** Put the folder at `.claude/skills/branded-docs/` in your repository (shared with the team) or `~/.claude/skills/branded-docs/` (just for you). Claude picks up skills from these locations. Ask: `Create a branded memo from these notes: ...`.
**2b. Claude apps (claude.ai, desktop).** Skills require code execution to be enabled in your settings, and availability depends on your plan. Zip the `branded-docs` folder so the ZIP contains the folder, then upload it in the Skills section of Claude's settings (under capabilities). Turn the skill on, then ask for a branded document in any chat. Claude will create the HTML file for you to download.
**3. Make the PDF.** Open the HTML file in a browser, choose Print, select "Save as PDF", and enable "Background graphics" so the brand colors print.
**Variables:** none in chat. All brand values live in `brand.md`. The `{{...}}` markers in `template.html` are filled by Claude when generating a document; do not edit them by hand.
