Landing page copy review against a five-second clarity test

Reviews the text of a landing page for a specific visitor and goal: what a first-time visitor understands in five seconds, where they will get stuck, and prioritised rewrites for the sections that matter most.

Prompt in Marketing by AISkillHub Library

What it does

A landing page can be well written and still fail because a new visitor cannot tell what the product is, who it is for, or what to do next. This prompt reviews your page copy section by section from the point of view of one specific visitor arriving from one specific source, and returns prioritised fixes instead of a generic list of best practices.

**Use it when** you are launching or revising a landing page, a pricing page, or a campaign page and want a structured critique before you spend money sending traffic to it.

**What you get** - A five-second test: what the visitor would understand from the headline, subheadline and primary call to action alone, and whether it matches what you want them to understand. - A section-by-section review with what works, what is unclear, and objections the visitor would still have at that point. - The top five fixes, ordered by likely impact on the stated goal, each with a suggested rewrite. - Questions the page leaves unanswered for this visitor.

**What it will not do** - It will not predict conversion rates or claim a change will produce a specific lift. Those need testing. - It will not review visual design, speed or SEO, since it only sees text. Paste the copy in page order, and describe images briefly where they carry meaning. - It will not add claims, testimonials or numbers to rewrites. Where a rewrite would benefit from proof, it says what kind of proof to add.

**Example** For a page whose headline is "The future of team productivity", the five-second test reports that a visitor arriving from a "shared inbox for support teams" ad cannot tell that this product is a shared inbox. The top fix rewrites the headline around the shared inbox and moves the integration list higher.

How to use it

## How to use

1. Open `prompts/landing-page-copy-review.md` and copy everything below the title line. 2. Replace each `{{variable}}` with your own content. Paste long material (notes, transcripts, tables) directly in place of the variable; keep the surrounding tags so the model can tell inputs apart. 3. Start a new chat in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and paste the filled prompt as your first message. 4. Read the output against the quality checks at the end of the prompt before you use or send it.

## Variables

- `{{page_copy}}`: all text on the page in order from top to bottom, with section labels such as `[Hero]` and `[Pricing]`. Describe meaningful images in brackets. - `{{visitor}}`: who arrives and from where, e.g. `support manager clicking a Google ad for shared inbox software`. - `{{goal}}`: the one action you want, e.g. `start free trial`, `book a demo`. - `{{product_summary}}`: one or two sentences on what the product actually is.

If you do not have a value for an optional variable, write `none` rather than deleting it, so the prompt still reads correctly.

## Reusing it

To reuse it often, save the prompt (with the variables left in) as the instructions of a Claude Project, a custom GPT or a Gemini Gem, then paste only the inputs in each new chat.
